Lieve Panacealeden,

We zijn nu al een tijdje bezig met de organisatie van het jaarlijkse Panacea symposium. Zoals jullie misschien al hebben kunnen zien, is ons thema dit jaar: Rampenplan?! Help, is er een dokter in de buurt?”. De lezingen en de workshops zullen allemaal gerelateerd zijn aan medische hulpverlening bij rampen. Jullie kennen natuurlijk allemaal de Vuurwerkramp en nog vers in jullie geheugen staat vast ook de aardbeving in Haïti.

Tijdens het ochtendprogramma zullen er verschillende lezingen worden gegeven; de onderwerpen variëren van het werk van het Mobiel Medisch Team tot het rampenplan van het UMCG. ’s Middags worden er in kleinere groepjes workshops gegeven; tijdens de kaartverkoop kan je je hierop ook inschrijven. Onderwerpen hiervan zijn onder andere botbreuken, brandwonden, ambulancezorg en omgaan met media tijdens rampen. Ter afsluiting van het symposium is er een borrel.
Let op: eerstejaars kunnen het symposium gebruiken als onderdeel van hun persoonlijke profilering.

Kaarten kunnen jullie vanaf 24 februari na college kopen. Ze kosten €3,00 voor Panacealeden en €4,00 voor niet-leden.

We hopen jullie allemaal te zien op 11 maart om 9.00uur bij de Fonteinpatio in het UMCG.

Dear IBMG students,

Lately, we have been very busy organising the annual Panacea Symposium. The title of this year's symposium is: "Rampenplan?! Help, is er een dokter in de buurt?", so the plenary part of the symposium and the workshops will be about medical aid during a catastrophe. The Dutch among you will remember the Vuurwerkramp in Enschede and of course, the most recent catastrophe, fresh in our memories, is the earthquake in Haïti.
During the morning programme, there will be five lectures about, among others, the work of the Mobile Medical Team and the plan the UMCG has when there is a catastrophe. In the afternoon we planned the workshops, given to smaller groups. During the ticket sales, you can apply for three workshops. The subjects vary from bonefractures to burnmarks; from ambulance care to how to cope with the media. There will be drinks afterwards.
Tickets will be sold from the 24th of Februari until the 11th of March, after your lectures. The tickets cost €3,00 for Panacea members and €4,00 for non-members.

We hope to see you the 11th of March, 9.00h a.m. at the Fonteinpatio in the UMCG.
